Acid Rain :: Free Essay Writer

Shouting at the Perception of Death      I certainly will consistently recall this cold and blustery night as though I was simply waking from the prior night. We were youthful at that point and had no clue what this life brought to the table us. It was reckless and at the time I could have minded less...my entire world could have come slamming down at this one second with one crush, one turn or one shout and I could have minded less...we were on such a large number of medications thus numerous highs we couldn’t have thought about things like life, love or family...When I thought I was dead I was unable to have minded more.      It all began late that night. It was a freezing night and the sky was dull and bleak. The air possessed an aroma like downpour and dampness since it had been coming down throughout the day. One of my old buddies, Tony, and I were remaining the night at my home in the wake of a difficult night of drinking, celebrating and hanging out at The Palace, an underage move club down the road from my home. We had just told my mother goodnight and taken off to bed. Our night was not finished at this point though...A companion of our own, Dana, was hosting a gathering at her home throughout the end of the week since her mother was away. We had inquired as to whether we could remain at Tony’s house since we realized his father would simply release us, yet I think she had an insight as of now of that circumstance so she said no and that she figured we should simply remain there. We were setting off to the gathering at any rate.      The telephone rang and it probably been one of the most intense most puncturing rings ever on the grounds that we were on out the entryway attempting our hardest to get out without making a sound so we could get away from the house without my mother knowing. My mom’s shout, â€Å"TOOONY...who in the hellfire is calling my home at two o’clock in the morning?† was all I heard as I ran back in the house to lose my shoes and pick up the telephone realizing it was presumably one of my companions being flushed and uninformed.      This time the telephone was for her... ideal time to leave â€Å"Moooom, its for you! Get it in there!† I pummeled the telephone down. We bailed outside as tranquil and rapidly as we could.

Should You Let Your Career Define You [The Digital Careerist]

By Adam Britten, Social Media Manager for 16 Handles, blogger for The Digital Careerist, Hult Alumni Class of 2012. Sunday night, I received a very reassuring email from my boss. She said â€Å"Adam, I don’t expect you to answer emails on weekends† after I had sent her a file that evening. This was nice to read, as I like to let my weekends be my own personal time, but I sometimes feel guilty when I arrive at the office on Monday morning and someone says â€Å"did you see my email?† and I have to answer â€Å"not yet.† But this email from my boss reminded me that my weekends ARE my own, and that my life is more than my job. I feel like many of my peers are letting their careers define them. And if you asked many of my â€Å"distant friends† (those friends from college who you are still connected to on Facebook, but who you haven’t seen in person in at least a year for whatever reason) they’d probably describe me as â€Å"that social media guy.† As much as I take pride in the fact that my friends, former classmates, and colleagues come to me when they have a question about how to run the Twitter account for the company they work for, or  how to ask for a recommendation on LinkedIn, I worry that this is the  only  thing they remember me as. (Ok, they might also remember me as the guy who was  way too obsessed with theme parks and Pixar movies.) But I want my peers to think of me as a more multidimensional person. When I think about my group of friends from college, there are a few that I only know as â€Å"the guy who works at JPMorgan† or â€Å"that girl in law school† because they are completely focused on their carers, almost to a fault. I’m sure their parents are proud of those titles, but I’m far more impressed by my friend who I summarize as â€Å"the girl who works in production at Macy’s who is teaching herself violin† or my other friend who is â€Å"an operations manager at a theatre festival who I run into at SoulCycle all the time.† So yesterday I thought a lot   about what I want my friends to define me as. No, I thought about what I want to define MYSELF as. I don’t want my personal  elevator pitch  to simply be â€Å"I work in social media.† I want it to reflect a complete person, and not just an office job. If I had my way, people would know me as: An athlete An adventurer An academic And I’m working towards these characteristics by†¦ Republished from The Digital Careerist, continue reading the article in full here. Beowulf Is The Hero Of All Heroes - 958 Words

I m writing about ancient heroes and whether or not they can be heroes at the present day time.im going to tell you about their pros as in good things about them and their cons as in bad things. I will also choose one modern day hero to come pare my ancient hero to and tell you where he from either a movie or a comic book. Beowulf is my ancient hero. I chose Beowulf because of all the qualities he has. Beowulf is the hero of all heroes’ he is strong, and courageous. He would risk his own life to save other people life s. He never back down to any person or thing and has never run any from a fight. He throws his self at danger to try to get rid of evil and look for people to help. In this day of age, I don t think he would be a good hero for a few reasons. Reason number one I think he is really too arrogant to throw his self at ever one problem thinking he is going to fix it. I personally think a hero should be asking them if they want your help before they make it worst. Or they can wait till they see someone in danger then throw yourself in the middle. Reason two I think he s arrogant will be the death of him because he think so mighty of his self. He will think he is unstoppable and that s where his demise will come from. Reason three he not that smart he more like a jock most heroes are usua lly smart and clever Beowulf isn t if he meant an evenly match villain he cloud loss fairly easy from how choices he make . Reason four is the way he dresses. TheShow MoreRelatedComparing Beowulf, The Wanderer, And The 13th Warrior1731 Words   |  7 Pagesis What is an epic hero? Language Creation Development Of Corporate -Myassignmenthelp.Com

Question: Discuss About The Language Creation Development Of Corporate? Answer: Introduction Lululemon initially wanted to offer something very unique to the customers that no other brands had ever provided earlier. Their main objective was to provide the customers with something that would give them immense fun and satisfaction. They wanted to provide a long, healthier and a fun filled life for their customers. They also wanted to fill a gap that was present in the athletic market of women. So, they wanted to provide their women customers with good quality athletic products. However, soon after they opened several new outlets particularly for women athletic wear, there were several problems with the yoga pants of women (Sousa, 2016). The women customers were not really very happy with the quality. Even when, this problem was considered, they were not happy with the behavior of the staffs. Even when the company apologized for their faults, women customers were unhappy because they thought that they were not really getting what they want. Though Lululemon had set up many new outlets for their women customers, there was still this complaint that they were not really finding what they were looking for. So, Lululemon must make sure that if they are trying to develop products for their women customers, then they must make sure that the women customers are getting equal respects and opportunities both in terms of the quality and quantity of products and also in terms of respect from the staffs of the company. What should Lululemon do to address the public relations firestorm? Lululemon had made a huge mistake by posting some very vulgar and insulting comments about the women customers saying that not every woman has a fit body to wear their products. So, this was really taken as a highly resented comment by all the customers. This comment had taken the entire social media by storm. So, making such comments about the figure of their women customers was really very unfortunate and disgraceful. Chip Wilson being a founder must not have made such derogatory comments. Though he apologized later, there was not even a single mention about the bad and hurtful comments that he had made about the women customers. So, in order to deal with all these problems, it is n necessary for Lululemon to make some efforts that would show their real apology towards women. They must take responsibility for holding some interviews and casting it either through television or through YouTube channels so that they can convey to all their female customers that they are really shamefu l for what they have done. They can also compensate their female customers by providing them better quality products at a much lower or affordable price. They can also offer several free gifts along with the actual purchases by their female customers (Chikovani, 2018). How is the company doing? Describe Lululemon's strategy, and comment on its performance? Lululemon started their venture with a very new, innovative and unique idea. They wanted to give their customers something new and something exciting that had not been provided by any of the other brands prior to this. They wanted to provide some very unique products to the customers that would give them a fun-filled and healthy life. Their main strategy was to fill the gap that was present in the female athletic products market. So, they opened up several new stores for their female customers. However, Chip Wilson the founder of this company had made several derogatory comments on social media platforms like face book, about the female figures when there was a complaint regarding the quality of the product. Though he was apparently apologetic on behalf of the whole company he did not take any such measures to compensate the female customers for the insult that they had to suffer (Horvath, 2016). So, they have to be really careful about their Public Relations in the near future. They have to be very alert about their comments and the way they are handling their customers. They have to be very careful about their comments that they are reflecting on social media. Apart from this, they will also have to find out several strategies that will help them combat their competitors (Chikovani, 2018). There was also a complaint from their customers that they are not getting sufficient variety of products. If they want to survive in the athletic product company, then they will have to extend their varieties of products. They must adopt several strategies like finding out new and innovative products that would really attract the attention of customers. They can extend their production and find out strategies for improvement both in terms of the quality and quantity as well. There can be a demand in the recent future regarding Lululemon shoes along with Lululemon athletic wears. In other words, they must adopt several strategies that would enable them to create superior qua lity products in the recent future that would help them to satisfy their customers. How should Lululemon evaluate its different growth options? One of the most important ways by which Lululemon can evaluate its growth is by considering the number of people around the globe who are becoming health conscious day by day. It is based on this evaluation, that they can design products. The growing and changing American culture has also given a major boost to the growth of this company, as wearing casuals have become highly popular almost everywhere (Zehndorfer, 2015). What are the strengths of the Lululemon organizational culture? The major areas of strength of this company are that they provide superior quality products that suit the interest of their targeted customers like the high-income group, health-conscious women. Though this company has to keep pace along with the recent trends in the market and make some additions in their price, at the same time, they make sure that they deliver the best quality products. They make use of all the modern technological methods to deliver superior quality products and thus, charge high price from their customers. The strength of Lululemon is that their financial base is quite good and they can make use of this finance for expanding the quality and quantity of their products to give a strong competition to their competitors. Should We Always Tell the Truth free essay sample

Telling the truth is the most important thing to do. It is better to tell the truth and admit mistakes. Everybody should tell the truth all the time to feel more comfortable. Sometimes people have to use the polite way to express their opinion. For the fact that, it will be easier and it will also be great because they are admitting their mistakes. People can appreciate this type of behavior and that gives value to them. For example, when someone lies to their wife or husband because he or she had a relationship with someone else; it’s better to tell the truth because they will feel guilty all their life even if they think that they can lose their husband or wife. His image of himself will not be good. When we tell the truth, it is easier to support our own idea or opinions because we don’t have to invent a story. People who lie invent a huge story. But if someone asks some details, we will probably be lost and forget some details to make sense of our lie. We can think that not telling the truth is.

Free Essays on The Evolution Of The Internet

The Internet has become an essential part of our lives. However, as we use it on a daily basis to communicate with family and friends, find information, look for jobs, pay bills, etc., we often do not stop to ponder where the internet originated. According to Nua Internet Surveys, 513.41 million people were online worldwide in August 2001. The Internet we know today and evolved from a government research program into the largest form of mass medium we know today. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) scientist J.C.R. Licklider first envisioned the Internet in August 1962. Licklider, who was Presidents Roosevelt’s science advisor during World War II, headed the first computer research program at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), as it was then known, a unit of the U.S. Department of Defense (Daily, p222.) The first Internet originated when (DARPA) began a network called ARPAnet in 1969. Designed as a computer version of the nuclear bomb shelter, ARPAnet protected the flow of information between military installations by creating a network of geographically separated computers that could exchange information via a newly developed protocol (rule for how computers interact) called NCP (Network Control Protocol). This meant that even if enemies knocked out portions of the network it would continue to function because the information sent would automatically find an alternate route to their destination. One opposing view to ARPAnet's origins comes from Charles M. Herzfeld, the former director of ARPA. He claimed that ARPANET was not created as a result of a military need, stating, "It came out of our frustration that there were only a limited number of large, powerful research computers in the country and that many research investigators who should have access were geographically separated from them" (Bellis, 3rd para.) Four computers were the first connected in the original ARPAnet. They were located in t... Free Essays on The Evolution Of The Internet Free Essays on The Evolution Of The Internet The Internet has become an essential part of our lives. Department of Defense (Daily, p222.)
